With home prices in San Diego averaging over $500,000+ in value the standard real estate commission is simply to much for a home owner to pay.  The only people that believe 2.5% is a fair price are the agent still pushing absurdly high fess.  I was one of the first agents to charge a flat 1% listing fee which was a fair amount for listing a home.
